Prabhas' upcoming film with Nag Ashwin, Prabhas 21, which was supposed to go on floors in November, had recently postponed its production to early next year, in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, the makers have revealed through a video on their official Youtube channel that Bollywood star Deepika Padukone will be playing the female lead in the big budget actioner. 

Touted to be a futuristic sci-fi thriller set against the backdrop of an imaginary third world war, the film is being bankrolled by C Ashwini Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies banner. 

To be mounted on a budget of Rs 400 crore, the makers call Prabhas 21 a pan-World film, which is expected to release in Telugu and several other regional and foreign languages in 2023. Prabhas was last shooting for his forthcoming romantic entertainer directed by Radha Krishna Kumar in Gergia before it got called off owing to the rise of coronavirus outbreak across Europe.
