Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Monday reached the Bandra Police Station in Mumbai to record his statement in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. Pictures and videos of the filmmaker arriving at the police station were seen on social media.

According to reports, Bhansali had offered films to Sushant but the two could not work due to date issues. The director will be questioned on allegations that Sushant was forced to drop out of his films because of a signed contract with Yash Raj Films, reports state.

Earlier, the police had recorded statements of 28 people including Sushant’s close friend and actor Rhea Chakraborty, Yash Raj Films casting director Shanoo Sharma and his last co-star Sanjana Sangh. Filmmaker Shekhaer Kapur, who had cast Sushant in his shelved Paani, is also expected to be questioned by the police.

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide at his Mumbai home on June 14. He was 34. His final film, Dil Bechara, is set for release on Disney+ Hotstar on July 24.
