Keerthy Suresh has landed the female lead role in Mahesh Babu's upcoming film, Sarkaru Vaari Paata (SVP). Word has it that she will be essaying the role of a bank employee in the action-based family drama directed by Parasuram.

"Keerthy will be seen as a colleague to Mahesh Babu's mother, who plays a bank official in the film. It's a chirpy, bubbly, girl-next-door character that gives her immense scope to unleash her comic timing. She is excited to portray this character and is eagerly waiting to join the sets," says a source.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata revolves around a fugitive business tycoon who leaves for the United Kingdom after being accused in a bank fraud in Hyderabad. How the son of a bank official comes to the rescue of his mother to bring the culprit to justice forms the crux of the film.

Meanwhile, the industry buzz is that Bigg Boss Telugu season 2 winner and actor Kaushal Manda has been roped in to play a pivotal role in Sarkaru Vaari Paata. "Kaushal has been approached to portray one of the villains in the film. He is thrilled to get an offer from the makers of the Mahesh-starrer and has agreed in principle to feature in the film," says a source. Interestingly, Kaushal made his big-screen debut in a supporting role in Mahesh Babu's Rajakumarudu (1999) and if this rumour turns out to be true, Sarkaru Vaari Paata marks his second collaboration with the 44-year-old actor.
