Director Gautham Menon, who has lent his voice as a narrator for several films, will be making his digital debut as a narrator through Discovery's COVID-19India's War Against the Virus. The documentary, which will be available in seven languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali, has Manoj Bajpayee narrating the Hindi version.

Extensively shot during the lockdown period, the documentary will map the spread of the pandemic through the eyes of front line workers, patients, migrant workers, and others. The film will also focus on the innovations and the way technology is being used to combat the virus.

“The fact that we all have been directly impacted by the pandemic makes this project different from others I have been part of. You almost relive part of your life as the reels go by, but at the same time the documentary shines light on so much that you weren’t aware of. That is why documentaries, as an entertainment tool, in my view, will always have a special pride of place,” says Gautham Menon.

The documentary will drop exclusively on Discovery Plus app at 8 pm on July 16. Following that, it will have its television premiere on July 20 at 8 pm on the Discovery Channel.
