CE Features

Ajay Gnanamuthu, director of Vikram's upcoming film, Cobra, has announced that he will take a voluntary pay cut of 40% to help the film's producer in these difficult times amid the coronavirus pandemic. Cobra is produced by Viacom Studios in association with Lalit Kumar, under the banner of 7 Screen Studio.

The film, which went on floors last August, was expected to hit the screens this year. However, its fate remains uncertain with film industries across the world hit due to the coronavirus lockdown. While the Tamil Nadu government is gradually easing restrictions, it is still unclear when things will return to normalcy and theatres reopen.

The makers of Cobra recently released the first single Thumbi Thullal, which has become an instant hit with nearly four million views in less than a week. Composed by AR Rahman, the song is sung by Nakul Abhyankar and Shreya Ghoshal, and has lyrics by Vivek.

Cobra also stars Srinidhi Shetty (of KGF fame) and Mirnalini Ravi as the female leads opposite Vikram and former cricketer Irrfan Pathan as the antagonist. Vikram will feature in multiple roles in Cobra

Meanwhile, the actor also has Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan adaptation, and Gautham Menon’s long-delayed Dhruva Natchathiram, in different stages of production.
