Gouri Kishen, who shot to fame after playing the younger Jaanu in 96, has now signed her next film. The young actor will be part of Karnan, Dhanush’s upcoming film with Pariyerum Perumal-fame Mari Selvaraj.

Gouri made the announcement on Twitter with a photo of herself with Mari, from the sets of Karnan. “I am deeply humbled to announce that I am on-board D41 with the phenomenal Mari Selvaraj sir,” she wrote.

Karnan also stars Rajisha Vijayan, Lakshmipriya Chandramouli, and Yogi Babu, among others.

This would be Gouri’s second big film, after Vijay-Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Master, in which she is rumoured to play a student. She was recently in Delhi with the crew shooting for that film.

Interestingly, Master will be Gouri’s second collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi, after 96, even though they did not have scenes together in the latter film.

Apart from Master, Gouri is also reprising her role from 96 in its Telugu remake Jaanu, starring Samantha and Sharwanand. Jaanu will hit the screens on February 7.
