Director Mahesh Bhatt is making a web series about a 70s star. Co-produced by Jio Studios, the show explores the relationship between a struggling filmmaker and a top Bollywood actor. The idea bears similarities to Woh Lamhe…(2006), supposedly based on Bhatt’s love affair with Parveen Babi.

As per reports, south actor Amala Paul has been cast as the central character in the show. If true, the project will mark her Hindi debut in the digital space. An official announcement is awaited from the makers.

Amala Paul predominantly appears in Tamil and Malayalam cinema. She won acclaim for her performance in the female-centric thriller Aadai (2019). Her upcoming releases are Adho Andha Paravai Pola, Cadaver, and Aadujeevitham. She is also a part of the Telugu version of Lust Stories.

Mahesh Bhatt is making his directorial comeback with Sadak 2. The film stars Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt along with Pooja Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur.
