Panja Vaisshnav Tej's Uppena first look, release date out

CE Features

The first look poster of Chiranjeevi's nephew, Panja Vaisshnav Tej's debut film, Uppena was released by the makers today. The poster shows a Vaisshnav on a beach stretching his hands out in exhilaration.

Directed by newcomer Buchi Babu, the film is set against a rustic backdrop and presents Vaisshnav Tej as a fisherman.

Rumour has it that the film's storyline is loosely inspired by the ghastly honour killing incident in Nalgonda. Produced jointly by director Sukumar and Mythri Movie Makers, Uppena is slated for release on April 2.

The makers recently wrapped up filming crucial portions in a specially constructed beach set at a popular studio in Hyderabad.

Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi plays the antagonist in the film, which also marks the debut of Mangalore girl Kriti Shetty as the female lead. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
