Venkatesh's new movie with director Srikanth Addala, the Telugu remake of the Tamil film Asuran, is rumoured to be titled Narappa. According to reports, of the many titles that were considered for the film, the makers felt Narappa would be apt for the story.

The upcoming remake will also feature Priyamani in the lead. It is all set to go on floors in Anantapur.

"Venkatesh will be seen in two different avatars in the movie, and the team will first start filming the portions which have him as a middle-aged man. He has grown a beard and will be sporting a salt-and-pepper look to suit the part. He will be accompanied by Priyamani, who plays his wife in the film. Once they complete these portions, the team will take a break for a month to let Venkatesh lose a few kilos for the younger part," confides a source.

Produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu and Suresh Babu, the Telugu version will see Venkatesh and Priyamani reprising the roles of Dhanush and Manju Warrier from the original.
