Vijay Deverakonda's new film, which marks his first collaboration with director Puri Jagannadh went on the floors in Mumbai today.

Tentatively titled Fighter, the action entertainer has Vijay as a martial artist with a stutter. That's not all, the Arjun Reddy actor will also be seen sporting long-hair and six-pack abs throughout the film.

Presented by Karan Johar, Fighter is set in the backdrop of Mumbai and will feature a host of popular stars from different film industries. It is said that the makers are considering Bollywood actor Ananya Pandey for the female lead role.

Produced under Puri Connects, Fighter is being made simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The film is expected to hit the screens this summer.
