Allu Arjun counters nepotism charges: My family members have devoted their lives to entertaining people

Ever since Kangana Ranaut sparked off the nepotism debate in Koffee with Karan, stories and opinion pieces about the issue have been on the rise. It's common knowledge that almost half of the current generation heroes in the Telugu film industry hail from influential famlies and several people allege that nepotism has taken over the industry.

However, Allu Arjun, the nephew of Chiranjeevi, who proved starred as the lead actor in films like Arya, Bunny, Julayi and Race Gurram, has come up with a defence of this nepotism.

"Just as a generation of priests dedicate their lives for the service of god, our families have devoted their lives to entertaining people. After my grandfather (Allu Ramalngaiah) and my father (Allu Arvind), I have surrendered myself to making people happy with my work. We view the audience as gods and if you call this nepotism, so be it," said Allu Arjun at the success meet of his latest release Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
