Vijay Sethupathi 's Laabam First Look is loaded with social commentary

The first look poster of Laabam, Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming film with director SP Jananathan, has been unveiled. The poster features scenes of a policeman shooting a farmer, who falls to the ground with a plough in hand, as a woman carrying a kid cries out in grief. A girl, with a raised fist, is also seen in the background. The poster, interestingly, conveys this scene from a protest with the help of mannequins. Amidst all this, there is Vijay Sethupathi, who seems to be addressing a crowd with the help of a megaphone, hung around his shoulder.

Vijay Sethupathi unveiled the film's first look at the Vikatan Cinema Awards that was held last night.

Shruti Haasan, who was last seen in Tamil in Singam 3, will be making a re-entry with Laabam. She will reportedly be playing a stage performer in the film. The film, bankrolled by Vijay Sethupathi under his home banner of VSP Productions, along with Arumuga Kumar's 7C's Entertainment Pvt Ltd, has music by D Imman. Kalaiyarasan, Sai Dhansika, Prithvi, Danie, Jagapathi Babu plays supporting roles.
