Controversial dialogues removed in Rajinikanth-AR Murugadoss’ Darbar

CE Features

Lyca Productions, which produced Rajinikanth’s latest film Darbar, has announced that certain dialogues and words from the latest film will be removed as they seem to have offended some people.

The dialogue took a dig at influential and wealthy prisoners who get many illegal privileges even as they are serving their prison sentences.

“It was only included to provide entertainment and is not intended to refer to any specific individual or to offend anyone,” the statement read, further adding that as it has hurt some people, it will be dropped.

Recently, a few dialogues were muted in Dhanush-Vetri Maaran’s Asuran after it sparked protests from certain communities. These dialogues were also later removed.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Darbar stars Nayanthara, Sunil Shetty, Nivetha Thomas, and Yogi Babu in important roles. Darbar, which was released this week, has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
