We had earlier reported that Kaithi, the 2019 Karthi-starrer, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, will be remade in Bollywood. It has now come to light that Ajay Devgn will reprise the role made memorable by Karthi. 

This was announced through a post on social media by producer SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures, which is collaborating with Reliance Entertainment for the Hindi version. Ajay is also set to back this film under his Ajay Devgn Films banner. 

The Kaithi remake is set to be released on February 12, 2021.

Incidentally, this is Ajay's first Tamil remake since he played the iconic titular role in Singham (2010), a remake of Suriya's Singam. 

Meanwhile, Ajay, who was recently seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, has Bhuj: The Pride of India, Maidaan, and RRR, in various stages of production.
