Mysskin, whose Psycho was released earlier this month, had been shooting the sequel to his 2017 film, Thupparivaalan, in Bristol, with lead actors Vishal and Prasanna,  for some time now. Lovely Singh, who has been rechristened as Ashya, was supposed to be playing the female lead.

With the first schedule of the film almost complete, reports are now rife that there have been disagreements between director Mysskin and Vishal over the budget and various other issues, and subsequently, Mysskin has decided to quit the sequel.

It is also said that if Mysskin walks out of Thupparivalan 2, the remaining scenes will be directed by Vishal. However, there's no official word from the team yet.

Prasanna and Vishal are reprising their roles as Manohar and Kanniyan Poongundran in this sequel, which is also expected to feature senior actors like Rahman and Gauthami.

With music by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by Nirav Shah, Thupparivalan 2 is produced by Vishal Film factory.
