Oscar-winning film producer Guneet Monga has revealed that she has plans to make a Hindi version of her upcoming Tamil production, Soorarai Pottru, starring Suriya.

Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film, also starring Aparna Balamurali, is based on the life of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath.

"We have finished a Tamil film called Soorarai Pottru. We launched a song, for which we took a whole aeroplane. It is the story of a farmer who makes India's first low-cost airline to make the common man fly. This is my first major big film," Guneet has been quoted as saying.

The producer said she is always looking to "diversify" and open "new channels" as a creative person. She added that the Hindi version of Soorarai Pottru is already in the pipeline.

"We will definitely do the Hindi remake. We are working on it, so it is still too early to say whether we will go with the same cast and crew or not," she said.

Produced by Suriya and Guneet, under their respective banners, 2D Entertainment and Sikhya Entertainment, the film is slated for release on April 9.

Guneet is the founder of Sikhya Entertainment, which has produced notable films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Peddlers, The Lunchbox, Masaan, and Zubaan.
