Indian 2 accident update: Kamal Haasan announces Rs 1 crore relief for families of deceased

We had previously reported that late last night (February 19), an accident on the sets of Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 led to the death of three crew members. A crane carrying heavy light equipment gave way and crashed to the ground killing assistant director Krishna, art assistant Chandran, and production assistant Madhu. In the latest update, Kamal has announced Rs 1 crore financial aid for the families of the deceased. 

The accident also injured a number of people on the sets, and they were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital. A source close to the unit revealed that Shankar, Kamal, and Kajal Aggarwal escaped unhurt in this accident. "The flying debris from the shattered equipment lead to bruises and cuts to a few crew members. After being administered necessary care at the hospital, most have them been discharged. There is one person with a fractured leg, who is expected to be discharged later today," said the source.
