Rajkummar Rao, Kriti Sanon reunite for lighthearted comedy

The film, which marks the Bollywood debut of popular Gujarati director Abhishek Jain, will also star Paresh Rawal and Dimple Kapadia

Bareilly Ki Barfi co-stars Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon are set to reunite for an upcoming comedy to be produced by Maddock Films. The untitled lighthearted comedy will also feature Paresh Rawal and Dimple Kapadia in key roles. 

The story revolves around a couple that ‘adopts’ parents. However, when their new set of parents don’t act as expected, chaos ensues. So much so that it threatens to wreck their married life. 

The film will be directed by Abhishek Jain in his Bollywood debut. Abhishek has directed popular Gujarati films such as Bey Yaar and Kevi Rite Jaish, and also assisted Bollywood filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Subhash Ghai. His first Hindi film will go on floors by mid-March and be released towards the end of the year. 

Rajkummar Rao has previously worked with Maddock Films on Stree and Made in China. He is also part of the banner’s upcoming production, Roohi Afza.

Kriti Sanon was last seen in Arjun Patiala. She is presently working on Mimi, a surrogacy drama directed by Laxman Utekar.
