Director Neeraj Pandey (A Wednesday, Special 26) is making his web debut with an international spy thriller series titled Special Ops. The Hotstar Special series is based on events spanning a period of 19 years. The series is being shot in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Jordan, and India. 

Special Ops is penned by Neeraj along with writers Deepak Kingrani and Benazir Ali Fida. The filmmaker is co-directing the series with Shivam Nair.  

"With special attention to writing, we have tried to recreate real-life events that have somewhere affected our lives over the past few years,” Neeraj said. “We're certain that audiences will find themselves gripped by the plot and will follow the intriguing story till the end.”

Neeraj has previously helmed the espionage thriller Baby (2015). A spin-off, titled Naam Shabana and led by Taapsee Pannu, was released in 2017. The film was written by Neeraj and directed by Shivam Nair.
