We had previously reported that Kajal Aggarwal will be playing one of the female leads in Kamal Haasan - Shankar's Indian 2, the sequel to the 1996 film, Indian. It's now known that the actor has joined the sets of the film. Kajal took to Twitter where she posted a picture from the makeup room without revealing her look from the film.

Kajal, who is working with Kamal for the first time in Indian 2, is said to have undergone martial arts training for her role. The film's shoot was resumed on Saturday, following Kamal's recuperation from leg surgery, in the outskirts of Chennai. 

Also starring Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simhaa, and Vidyut Jammwal in crucial roles, Indian 2 follows the life of nonagenarian vigilante, Senapathi, who rises up to fight against corruption.

While the film was said to be planned as a Pongal 2021 release, it's speculated that Lyca Productions, who are bankrolling the film, might postpone the release to summer 2021 to avoid a clash with SS Rajamouli's RRR co-starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles.
