IT raids on AGS Group’s properties; Vijay questioned on the sets of Master

The officials of the Income Tax Department have conducted a surprise raid on Kalpathu Aghoram’s AGS Cinema Pvt Ltd. The raid is underway in over twenty locations, including Kalpathi Aghoram’s residence and theatre properties in Chennai.

Reports also suggest that actor Vijay, whose last film Bigil was produced by AGS, is being questioned as well. The actor is being questioned by officials at Neyveli, where he is currently shooting for this next film Master.

More details from the raids and the investigation are awaited.

Incidentally, popular financier Anbuchezhiyan is also under the IT scanner, with raids happening at his T Nagar officer. The Madurai-based financier came under the media spotlight after he was accused by associate director Ashok Kumar in his suicide note. A relative of director Sasikuamr, Ashok had blamed Anbucheziyan for his decision, and claimed that he was continuously harassed by the loan shark.
