Harbhajan Singh turns hero for Friendship

CE Features

Famous Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh will be making his Tamil debut as the lead in a film titled Friendship. The ace bowler shared the first look image of the film via Twitter. The first look shows two hands of two people standing in opposite directions handcuffed together, against the backdrop of a post-riot ground.

Produced by Seantoa Studio and Cinemaa Studio, Friendship will be directed by John Paul Raj and Sham Surya. The film also stars Bigg Boss Tamil fame Losliya, who took to Instagram to share the development.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Harbhajan is acting in a film. The cricketer, who is known for appearances in reality shows, made a cameo in the 2015 Hindi film Second Hand Husband that marked the debut of veteran actor Govinda’s daughter, Tina Ahuja.

Harbajan will also be seen in an important role in Santhanam's time-travel film Dikkiloona.

Incidentally, despite the first look of Friendship carrying the tagline, 'First time in cinema, a cricket legend plays main lead', cricketer Sadagoppan Ramesh had already done that in the 2011 film, Potta Potti.
