Veteran actor Shabana Azmi has been discharged from hospital. The National Award-winning actor was involved in a car accident last month on Mumbai-Pune Expressway. She had sustained minor injuries and was temporarily admitted to the MGM hospital in Navi Mumbai. She was later shifted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Shabana’s husband, veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar, who was travelling with her, had escaped unharmed.

“Thank you all for your prayers and wishes for my recovery. I’m back home now Thank you Tina Ambani and Kokilaben Ambani hospital for the sterling care provided by the doctors team and the nursing staff. I'm indebted and grateful,” Shabana tweeted.

Shabana Azmi was last seen in the historical drama The Black Prince (2017). Her upcoming film is Sheer Qorma, co-starring Divya Dutta and Swara Bhasker. She’s also a part of Halo, an upcoming Showtime series based on the iconic video-game franchise.
