Netflix has renewed its Virgin River series for a third season. The series premiered in 2019, and its second season was released recently on November 27.

Based on novels by Robyn Carr, Virgin River follows Melinda "Mel" Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) who applies for the post of a midwife and nurse practitioner in the remote California town of Virgin River, to get a fresh start in her life. Notably, Carr has published 27 Virgin River novels till-date since 2007.

Netflix Queue took to Twitter to break the news, with a video featuring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson. The actors thanked fans and stated that it was their dedication that led to the renewal of the show.

Variety reports that Breckenridge will reprise her role, with other returning actors including Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Grayson Gurnsey, Lauren Hammersley, Sarah Dugdale, Jenny Cooper, Daniel Gillies, Chase Petriw, and Marco Grazzini. They will also be joined by new series regular Zibby Allen and Stacey Farber, the latest addition.
