Nayanthara will be playing the female lead in Alphonse Puthren's Paattu, starring Fahadh Faasil as the male lead. The comeback project of the director was announced in the first week of September. The filmmaker will also be debuting as a music composer with the film.

The announcement of Nayanthara's inclusion was made earlier this evening, through Alphonse's social media handle.

It may be recalled that Fahadh and Nayanthara had previously shared screen space in the 2017 Tamil film Velaikkaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan.

Paattu will be bankrolled by Zacharia Thomas and Alwin Antony through UGM Entertainments.

Nayanthara, who was last seen in Malayalam in Love Action Drama, alongside Nivin Pauly, is currently shooting for Nizhal, co-starring Kunchako Boban. She also has Tamil films like Rajinikanth-Siva's Annaatthe and Netrikann in the pipeline.
