It is known that a film based on the life of acclaimed magician and escape artist Harry Houdini has been in development for several years. Reports now suggest that the project is set up at Disney and Ben Affleck is set to star in the film, but not in the titular role. 

Dan Trachtenberg, known for 10 Cloverfield Lane, Black Mirror, will direct the film which is based on William Kalush and Larry Sloman’s book, The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America’s First Superhero. 

Not much is known about Affleck’s role, but reports suggest that he might play a supporting character who is some kind of agent. An official confirmation about the new development is awaited.
