It is official. Vijay is teaming up with Nelson Dilipkumar of Kolamaavu Kokila fame for his next film. Tentatively called Thalapathy 65, this project is bankrolled by Sun Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander will be in charge of the music, his third film with Vijay after Kaththi and Master. 

The official announcement was made by Sun Pictures on Twitter today. The announcement video has a small portion with guns and a sniper, leading to speculation that Thalapathy 65 might be an action entertainer. The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be announced. 

Nelson Dilipkumar is currently working on Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor, which is tentatively scheduled for a Summer 2021 release. 

Vijay, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Master, which will reportedly hit screens for Pongal 2021.
