We had earlier reported that the Bollywood hit Andhadhun will get a Tamil remake with Prashant headlining the project. Now, reports suggest that Simran has been roped in for the film. She is said to be reprising the role played by Tabu in the original.

While the Tamil remake was originally supposed to be helmed by Mohan Raja, he was later replaced by JJ Fredrick, who made his directorial debut with Jyothika’s Ponmagal Vandhal

The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be announced.

Simran has earlier worked with Prashanth in films like Kannedhirey Thondrinaal (1998), Jodi (1999), and Paarthen Rasithen (2000).

She will next be seen in the Netflix anthology Paava Kadhaigal, where she is part of Gautham Vasudev Menon’s segment.
