Bollywood mourns demise of former President of India Pranab Mukherjee (1935-2020) 

The veteran politician passed away after prolonged illness at 84 in New Delhi

Former President of India Pranab Mukherjee passed away at 84 today. He was in coma after a brain surgery earlier this month and was admitted to the Army Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi. He had also tested positive for COVID-19. 

Pranab Mukherjee served as the 13th President of India from 2012 until 2017. He was a senior member of the Indian National Congress (INC) and had held multiple cabinet portfolios in his career.

Several Bollywood celebrities paid their respects on Twitter. “Deeply saddened hearing this news,” Varun Dhawan wrote with a picture of the late politician. 

Raveena Tandon shared her condolences and prayers.
