Ryan Reynolds is set to headline Netflix's upcoming feature comedy Upstate. The actor, along with John August, will also pen the script and executive produce the project under the banner Maximum Effort, reports Variety. The duo had already worked together in The Nines (2007).

Details of the plot and the rest of the cast details have not been revealed yet. Meanwhile, Reynolds has already collaborated with Netflix for 6 Underground (2019) and he is also currently working on another Netflix film, Red Notice, which stars Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson.

The Deadpool star is awaiting the release of Free Guy and The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. Most recently, it was announced that he will star in Paul King's Everyday Parenting Tips, which is in works at Universal.
