Daniel Kaluuya to star in Netflix's sci-fi project

Widows and Get Out actor Daniel Kaluuya is attached to star in Netflix's adaptation of an upcoming science fiction novel, The Upper World.

The novel, written by British-Nigerian author Femi Fadugba, is reportedly the first among a series of books set to be published by Penguin UK and Harper Collins US, between 2021 and 2022. Fadugba, who is an expert on quantum physics, will also serve as executive producer. The Upper World is his debut novel. 

The book is set in multiple timelines. As per the official synopsis, it revolves around a man named Esso, who realises that he can see glimpses of the past and the future. Meanwhile, in 2035, a character named Rhia is contacted by a mysterious stranger who desperately needs her help to avert a bullet fired 15 years ago.

Kaluuya will also produce the film along with Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless of Screen Arcade.

Meanwhile, Daniel Kaluuya will be next seen in Shaka King's Judas and the Black Messiah.
