The trailer for Class of ‘83 is out. Directed by Atul Sabarhwal, the upcoming Netflix release stars Bobby Deol in his digital debut.

The trailer follows Vijay Singh (Bobby), an honest cop who is shunted to a punishment posting as the dean of the police academy. There, he trains a squad of assassin cops meant to carry out encounter killings of criminals. “Sometimes to maintain order,” someone argues, “one needs to break the law.” Vijay Singh concurs: “To protect the good and destroy the evil.” God help the HRC.

Class of ‘83 based on Hussain Zaidi’s book of the same name and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment. The film also stars Anup Soni, Joy Sengupta, Vishwajeet Pradhan and others. It is set to premiere on August 28.

“I love the sheer variety of content a digital medium like Netflix has to offer,” Bobby recently said. “The 1980s was a fascinating period in Mumbai’s history, and this film allowed me to live and feel that era all over again. When Atul and Red Chillies Entertainment approached me, I was drawn by the intensity and depth of the character and knew right away that I had to be part of Class Of 83.”
