Rajisha Vijayan roped in for Muttiah Muralitharan biopic?

CE Features

Vijay Sethupathi, who has a slew of releases, confirmed last year that he will be playing Muttiah Muralitharan in an upcoming biopic of the veteran Sri Lankan cricketer. If speculations are to believed, Malayalam actor Rajisha Vijayan has been approached to play the female lead in the film. Known for films like June, Finals and Georgettan's Pooram, Rajisha will soon be making her Tamil debut with Dhanush's Karnan.

Tentatively titled 800, the Muralitharan biopic will be directed by MS Sripathi, who has previously directed a film titled Kanimozhi. Vijay Sethupathi had earlier said, "Portraying the role of Murali is going to be a challenge for me and I'm looking forward to it. I'm delighted that Murali himself will be closely involved with the project and guiding me on the cricketing aspects."

Reports suggest that the film, which will go on floors immediately after the lockdown is revoked, will be a mega-budget project, shot across India, England, Sri Lanka, and a few other countries.
