Actor Saurabh Saraswat’s upcoming film, Nameplate, which was premiered at the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), is headed for release on an OTT platform. Saurabh has appeared in films like CRD (on Netflix) and Cat Sticks (on MUBI). He essayed the character Ritwik in the recent ZEE5 original series Mafia

Speaking about Nameplate, Saurabh shares, “It’s a sweet story of a couple who want to buy a home and was shot in Pune. The story is very relatable as it is about a common man. It portrays how a husband and a wife who have lived their entire life in a rented house finally plan to buy a house and invest a lot in its planning but are in a fix on realising at the last moment that the loan has been postponed for two years.”

Talking about his role, the actor adds, "I am playing the protagonist Sudhir Mathur in the film. Sudhir is full of life, loves his wife and values his friends and family. He comes from a middle-class background and hence he is rooted in the middle-class family values. In order to prepare for Sudhir, I started living a life of a common man, I bought a scooter and would go to buy vegetables in the market every week, would calculate the budget of my expenses, would clean shave everyday, and worked a lot to just be happy and joyful as much as I could.”
