Karen Gillan, best known as Amy Pond in Doctor Who, as well as for her roles in the Jumanji sequel and Guardians Of The Galaxy, is set to star in the sci-fi thriller Dual, along with Breaking Bad-actor Aaron Paul.

The film, helmed by director Riley Stearns, will also star Beulah Koale, Martha Kelly, and Jesse Eisenberg.

Penned by Stearns, the script follows the journey of a terminally ill woman, played by Gillan, who opts for a cloning procedure to ease her loss on her friends and family. When she makes a miraculous recovery, her attempts to have her clone (also played by Gillan) decommissioned fails, which leads to a duel.

Stearns will produce the film alongside XYZ Films. The project is expected to be released for sale at the virtual Cannes market.
