Director SS Rajamouli, who is spending his quarantine period binge-watching films and web series, has made headlines for calling the Oscar-winning South Korean black-comedy thriller Parasite boring. In his latest interview with a television channel, the director stated that he fell asleep halfway through the film as he found it really boring.

Rajamouli's candid opinion has left social media users outraged and they came down heavily on the director for disregarding the creative work of its director Bong Joon-ho.

Parasite, which looks at class relations through the lens of the relationship between a wealthy family and a poor one, won four awards at the 92nd Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film, becoming the first film not in English to win the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Rajamouli, meanwhile, has suspended the shooting of his upcoming period actioner RRR due to COVID-19 lockdown.
