For some time now, speculation was rife that a sequel for Soodhu Kavvum was on the cards. Now, CV Kumar’s production company Thirukumaran Entertainers has confirmed that Soodhu Kavvum and Maayavan will both get sequels. These are in addition to the previously announced sequels to Thegidi and Indru Netru Naalai. 

“All the three scripts (Soodhu Kavvum, Maayavan, Thegidi) are in the finishing stage. Will update soon with all details,” a tweet from the official handle read.

In a later tweet, the production company added that Indru Netru Naalai 2’s script is "almost done and pre-production will start once the lockdown ends." 

While Maayavan marked the directorial debut of CV Kumar, Soodhu Kavvum introduced director Nalan Kumaraswamy to the industry. Indru Netru Naalai was helmed by Ravi Kumar and Thegidi was directed by Ramesh. 

While Vishnu Vishal had earlier said that he will be part of Indru Netru Naalai 2, it is unclear if all the filmmakers and cast of the original films will return for the respective sequels. Official announcements will be made after the coronavirus lockdown is lifted.
