Upendra will be making his comeback in Telugu cinema with a film starring Mahesh Babu. According to a source, the Kannada superstar is being considered to play a crucial role in Mahesh's upcoming film, directed by Parasuram and tentatively called SSMB 27.

"The makers reached out to Upendra recently and he really liked both the concept and his role. He is really excited to be a part of the film, but is yet to give his consent," says a source.

Expected to be a family entertainer with a dash of action, SSMB 27 will be bankrolled jointly by Mythri Movie Makers and 14 Reels Plus LLP banner.

An official announcement regarding SSMB 27 will be made on May 31 coinciding with veteran actor Krishna's birthday. The film has music by Gopi Sundar.
