Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey is mulling the possibility of a second season of Special Ops. Released on March 17 on Hotstar, Special Ops is an 8-episode spy-thriller that follows RAW officer Himmat Singh (Kay Kay Menon) and his task force as they try to catch a terror mastermind. The show is inspired by the 2001 Parliament attacks.

While the events of the first season were close-ended, Neeraj and Hostar have discussed ideas of creating a franchise. However, the second season will only take off once the COVID-19 crisis ends and normalcy returns.

Special Ops Season 1 was co-directed by Neeraj and Shivam Nair. The duo had previously collaborated on Naam Shabana, a prequel to Baby.

Neeraj’s last theatrical release was Aiyaary, starring Siddarth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee. Last year, the director was rumoured to reunite with Akshay Kumar for a film on National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
