Director Tharun Bhascker, who is currently making his debut in a lead role with Vijay Deverakonda's maiden production venture, Meeku Matrame Chepta, is all set to team up with actor Venkatesh for a horse racing film, say reports.

The film will be set against the backdrop of the Hyderabad Race Club, Malakpet. "Venkatesh liked Tharun's script and has verbally agreed to be part of the film. The director is giving final touches to the script and is planning to take the film on the floors later this year," says a source.

The untitled film charts the story of a jockey-turned-swashbuckling horse-racing gambler. It will be bankrolled by Suresh Babu Daggubati.

While Venkatesh is shooting for Venky Mama, a romantic family entertainer also starring Naga Chaitanya, Payal Rajput and Raashi Khanna, Tharun has completed shooting for Meeku Matrame Chepta.
