Dream Girl becomes second Ayushmann Khurrana film to cross 100 crore mark

Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl has crossed the 100 crore mark at the box office. The comedy earned Rs. 3.75 crore on its second Monday, bringing the total collection to Rs. 101.40 crore. This is Ayushmann’s second film to enter the hundred crore club after last year’s Badhaai Ho, which has a worldwide gross of Rs. 221.48 crore.

Dream Girl is directed by Raaj Shaandhilyaa. The film revolves around Karam (Ayushmann), a young man in Mathura who impersonates female characters in staged plays. For his skill of mimicking a woman’s voice, he is hired at a friendship call centre run by Dublu Ji (Rajesh Sharma).

Dream Girl stars Nushrat Bharucha as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Nidhi Bisht, Manjot Singh and Abhishek Banerjee.

Released on September 13, the film became Ayushmann’s highest opener till date, minting Rs. 10.05 crores on its first day.
