Actor Patricia Arquette took home the Emmy for Oustanding Supporting actress in a limited series or TV movie award for her role in Hulu's The Act. She bested her fellow nominees —  Patricia Clarkson (Sharp Objects), Margaret Qualley (Fosse/Verdon), Emily Watson (Chernobyl) and both Marsha Stephanie Blake and Vera Farmiga (When They See Us) — to win her second Emmy. 

In her acceptance speech, Patricia spoke about the need for equal rights for transgender people, remembering her sister Alexis Arquette, a transgender actress who died in 2016. 

"I'm in mourning every day of my life, Alexis, and I will be the rest of my life for you until we change the world so that trans people are not persecuted," Patricia said. 

The Oscar winner appealed for no persecution and more job security for the transgender community. "They're human beings. Let's give them jobs. Let's get rid of this bias that we have everywhere," she added

Patricia, who received the award from the Game of Thrones team, praised the cast and crew of The Act, and also her fellow nominees. She also expressed her gratitude over getting the best parts of her life at her age.
