CE Features

Actor Jai Courtney who played Digger Harkness aka Captain Boomerang in 2016's Suicide Squad has now confirmed the return of the character to the new film, The Suicide Squad. With the film currently underway, the Terminator Genisys actor has teased his inclusion to the film by sharing an image of himself from the sets with the gold tooth intact.

Captain Boomerang is one of only four characters who will be back for The Suicide Squad, the other three being Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, and Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag. The rest of the cast will be comprised of new characters played by John Cena, Michael Rooker, David Dastmalchian, and Daniela Melchior.

In the 2016 Suicide Squad, Captain Boomerang was one of the few surviving members of the team following the mission to defeat Enchantress and Incubus. It is speculated that the character might have spent the rest of the time in prison, only to be released for the events of The Suicide Squad.

The James Gunn directorial will hit the screens on August 21, 2021.
