Suriya, who plays an officer who leads the National Security Guard in KV Anand's Kaappaan, has stated that the film's story has a lot of similarities to terrorist acts in reality, where you cannot pinpoint a single person as the perpetrator.

Speaking at the press meet of Kaappaan, which revolves around the story of an NSG officer's efforts to protect the Prime Minister from terrorist attacks, Suriya said, "When Gandhi was assassinated a lot of caste and religion-based riots broke out in India. While the rest of India was cursing Godse, Periyaar said, 'Bring Godse's gun, let's break it into pieces!' When the people surrounding him gave a confused look he said, 'Blaming Godse for Gandhi's death is similar to this. He is just a weapon. The actual trigger was the ideology that influenced him to do so'." The actor added that Kaappaan's screenplay too is such that you cannot point to a single person as the one responsible for the terrosit acts.

Also starring Arya, Sayyesshaa, Mohanlal, and Bomman Irani, Kaappaan will be hitting the screens this Friday.
