Captain Marvel make-up artist to work on Kangana Ranaut's Jayalalithaa biopic, Thalaivi

Prosthetics expert Jason Collins of Captain Marvel-fame will create four different looks for Kangana Ranaut in the Jayalalithaa biopic. Titled Thalaivi, the film is set to go on floors in Mysore in about a month's time. Kangana is presently taking dancing lessons to prepare for the part.

Co-producer Vishnu Induri updated on the project's progress, saying, “The pre-production is in full swing and the team is in Mysore for the recce. As planned, the shoot will start post Diwali.” 

He also shared details about the work they are putting into Kangana’s appearance in the film. “Kangana has four looks spanning different ages and we need a good amount of pre-production for that. We have roped in top Hollywood make-up artists for Kangana's makeover."

Jason Collins has done prosthetics work in Captain Marvel, Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Ghost in the Shell, and Blade Runner 2049. He is the owner of the LA-based special effects studio, Autonomous FX.

Thalaivi will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi under the same title, as per Kangana's suggestion. The film is directed by Vijay and co-produced by Shailesh R Singh.
