Yugi Sethu returns to direction after 27 years; Ganesh Venkataraman to star in the project

CE Features

After a gap of almost 27 years, actor-filmmaker Yugi Sethu is set to direct his third feature film, which will star Ganesh Venkatraman in the lead role.

Yugi made his directorial debut with the 1987 Tamil film, Kavithai Paada Neramillai, starring Amala and Nasser, which was a remake of the Hindi film, Ankush. He followed this up with the 1992 film, Maadhangal Ezhu.

Even though he stopped directing feature films, he acted in a few memorable roles in filmes like Kamal Haasan's Panchathanthiram and the Vijayakanth-starrer Ramana. Apart from his acting career, Yugi, who passed out of the Adyar Film Institute, also served as the screenwriter for Villain and Asal, both starring Ajith, and directed by KS Ravikumar and Saran, respectively.

Ganesh and Yugi are currently busy scouting for locations in London. The former shared a picture of the two of them on Twitter, and said, "With my super talented director Yugi Sethu sir! I have been a huge fan of his writing and comedy. And now finally working with him is a huge learning experience."

An official announcement about the project, with details about the rest of the cast and crew is expected soon.
