Kaaka director Theni Paraman: Comedy doesn't dilute but rather conveys the message better

Encouraging the first step of the assistant director of his film Kaadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, actor Vijay Sethupathi has unveiled the first look poster of debut director Theni Paraman's Kaaka. The film stars Inigo Prabhakaran, Munishkanth, Sendrayan, and Paraman himself in prominent roles. The story revolves around the comical troubles faced by a group of friends in pursuit of love. Calling comedy drama his favourite genre, director Paraman says, "I have been a fan of out-and-out comedy films, which is why I chose to make my debut with the genre. Having said that, I am not limiting myself to it. I will work on any genre if I have a compelling story to tell."When asked what is new about his film with a screenplay based on a very familiar story, Paraman explains, "The distinctive character sketches I wrote for the leads would be interesting. I have also subtly added messages about planting trees and avoiding alcoholism."

When asked whether or not the messages in the film will be taken lightly when conveyed with humour, Paraman explains, "My belief is that any message conveyed through comedy will have a lasting impact rather than diluting it." The cast of Kaaka also includes Appukutty, Rosmin, Dhanya, Kottachi, and Mahanadhi Shankar. The film is backed by Renuka Krishnasamy of Aaren Pictures. Cinematographer SK Suresh Kumar, editor Shijith Kumaran, music director Kevin D'Costa, and art director Maayakannan are part of Kaaka's technical crew.

Regarding the release of Kaaka, the director said the film will be out by the third or fourth week of July.
