Hayley Atwell has been roped in for Tom Cruise's upcoming Mission: Impossible film. The details of the role played by the actor, famous for playing Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been kept under the wraps. 

Director Christopher McQuarrie took to instagram to share the news, he wrote, 
 

 McQuarrie is the only director to have directed two films (Rogue Nation, Fall Out) in the Mission Impossible franchise. He has also been sign to write and direct two more films.
  
Tom  Cruise will reprise his iconic role of Ethan Hunt in the upcoming film too.
