Vijay's next with Lokesh Kanagaraj, tentatively called Thalapathy 64, is progressing at a brisk pace and the latest speculations state that the film might be released on April 9 next year.

The film, which is touted to be a gangster thriller, co-stars actors like Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu, and Antony Varghese. With music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Sathyan Sooriyan, Thalapathy 64 is bankrolled by XB Film Creators. 

The first schedule was wrapped recently and the second one is expected to begin tomorrow. 

Meanwhile, certain sources state that the film might clash with Karthi-Rashmika Mandanna's Sultan at the box office, just like Bigil and Kaithi did this Diwali.
