Sukumar to direct Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan in Lucifer remake

While Chiranjeevi will step into the shoes of Mohanlal, Ram Charan might either play the role of Tovino Thomas or Prithviraj from the original

Director Sukumar, who is set to commence work on his next with Allu Arjun, is teaming up with Chiranjeevi for a new film. A remake of the Malayalam action film Luciferdirected by Prithviraj Sukumaran and starring Mohanlal, this film will go on floors early next year.

"Right now Chiru is busy prepping for his next film with Koratala Siva and Sukumar is busy with the pre-production of AA 20. Once they are done with their respective films, they will start working on this remake. Besides producing the film, Ram Charan will be playing a crucial role in the film. He might either play Tovino Thomas' role or Prithviraj's part from the original. While Sukumar suggested the former's part, Charan is keen to step into the shoes of Prithviraj. A decision will be taken soon," informs a source.

Lucifer revolves around the death of a political stalwart, leading to questions on succession. The film was a runaway hit in Malayalam.
